A boat ride along the subterranean Punkva River leads you to the foot of Macocha Gorge, a 138-metre-deep abyss that has fascinated visitors since the 17th century. It is one of the most impressive geological features in the Czech Republic and is rarely matched anywhere in Europe.
After the caves, the day shifts completely. Brno, the Czech Republic’s second-largest city, is only 30 minutes away — and feels like a different world. Less crowded than Prague, more local, and full of personality. The vehicle is a Hyundai Staria (up to 8 passengers). Entrance fees to Punkva Caves are not included and must be purchased on site (approx. 250 CZK per person for the standard boat tour).
Practical tips: Punkva Caves are cool year-round (8°C / 46°F) — bring a light jacket even in summer. The cave tour is guided (Czech/English) and lasts approximately 60 minutes including the boat ride. Book cave tickets in advance during peak season (June–August) as slots fill quickly.
